It was my ex-boyfriend's Mum's 50th birthday party the other day. Quite a gift conundrum I'm sure you'll agree. So I thought, hell, I'll make her something, I love Celia, she's really a great person and a proper Mum and family person, you know? She also LOVES her kitchen. So I thought, hey, she likes the same sort of style as I do, I'll make her soemthing small and pointless to clutter her house (why i thought this was a great idea I do not know) so I thought I'd make a lavender bag... in the shape of a bird... yeah... I don't know, I really don't know what I was thinking. Anyway, she seemed to like it, and it was the first thing like that I've made with any real success, and without a pattern, too! So, here it is, Captain Useless the Feathered:
He is full of rice and lavender from the garden, made of offcuts, silk and buttons.
I crocheted this huge chrysanthemum for it too... cause birds have flowers, yo. God... I really... *hangs head*. Look at me trying to hide in those photos, heh heh.
In other news, new quilt on the make, this fabric is DELICIOUS, I mean, really!
So its that cotton top and then a thick woven cotton bottom, its like really soft sacking material. Still needs edging and I think lots of cream crochet work for this one. Well, thats all for now :D
